Urban Defense Advisory Group

Urban Defense was born from a single truth: the world is more dangerous than it used to be, and most people don’t know what to do if violence finds them. From hands-on scenario training to emergency medical skills, we offer real answers for real people. Whether you’re a parent, a teacher, a real estate team, or a church leader, we have programs built for your group. We use a Crawl-Walk-Run methodology to build confidence and muscle memory. Our tools and tech—like the Life Ring automatic tourniquet and Urban Radar safety apps—bring innovation to public safety and personal readiness. In a crisis, the only thing worse than being afraid… is being unprepared. When Will The Next Headline Involve Someone You Love?

The State of America Today – Setting the Scene

Turn on the television. Scroll through your phone. Listen to a morning radio show. The headlines come faster than we can process them—another school lockdown, another church massacre, another mall evacuated. Colorado. Florida. California. It doesn’t matter the zip code. It doesn’t matter the neighborhood. Violence is no longer isolated. It’s become ambient. What was once unthinkable has become routine. Parents hold their breath when their children walk out the door. Teachers eye their classroom doors like barricades. Families avoid crowded events. Churches install security cameras. Mall parking areas. America isn’t just on edge—it’s emotionally and psychologically exhausted. And for good reason. Just last month, a school shooting rattled Tallahassee. Yesterday, a terrorist act unfolded in Colorado. Last week, a shopping center on the East Coast went from a bustling afternoon to chaos in minutes. These stories don’t shock us anymore. They drain us. Because deep down, we know: it could be our kids or our community. The headlines change, but the pain doesn’t. And one day soon—that headline may include someone you love. This is the climate in which we now live. Fear has crept into our everyday lives—at school drop-off, in line at the grocery store, during worship services, even inside our own homes. But fear is only part of the story. The real crisis is the feeling of helplessness. Most Americans don’t want to carry fear, but they also don’t know what to do with it. They’re not looking to become commandos. They just want to protect their families! They want to have a fighting chance! They want to be ready! That’s the world we’re in. And that’s the world that gave rise to Urban Defense Advisory Group.

Meet Brandon Salazar – The Mind Behind Urban Defense Advisory Group

Brandon Salazar is not your average business owner. He’s a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. A former executive protection agent. A licensed private investigator. A combat instructor. And a man who has spent his entire adult life studying what happens when the world stops making sense—and how to survive it. After serving as an amphibious reconnaissance Marine in the United States Marine Corps, he spent two decades providing elite-level training for over 30,000 Special Operators from all four branches of Armed Services, government officials, and high-risk diplomats—learning firsthand how violence unfolds, how the body reacts under stress, and what makes the difference between life and death.

His credentials go beyond the battlefield. Brandon is a lifelong martial artist who won the U.S. Open Sport Karate Championship during his senior year of high school. He is also a former NRA-certified firearms instructor in six disciplines—blending his expertise in martial arts, firearms, and emergency medicine into every layer of his instruction. He looked around at the rising chaos in America—school shootings, terrorist attacks, street violence—and realized that civilians didn’t need theory. They needed results. They didn’t need to train for years in martial arts or firearms. They needed confidence, clarity, and capability—now. So he built it.

Urban Defense Advisory Group was born not as a business, but as a calling. Brandon saw a gap between the average American’s fear and their ability to respond to danger—and he stepped in to close it. His studio doesn’t teach fantasy or fluff. It delivers hard skills through hyper-accelerated training, scenario-based stress drills, cutting-edge medical tools, and behavioral conditioning based on real neuroscience. Brandon’s life has been about surviving the chaos and saving lives. Urban Defense is about passing that survival on—to you, your family, and your community.

Why Urban Defense Was Born – From Fear to Action. From Chaos to Capability.

Urban Defense wasn’t launched as a company. It was launched as a countermeasure. In a world where innocent people are gunned down in schools, ambushed in parking lots, or caught in chaos at grocery stores and places of worship, Brandon Salazar saw a glaring problem: there was nowhere for the everyday American to go for real, fast, effective training. Not theory. Not gimmicks. Not years of sport-style martial arts. Real skills. Taught fast. Under pressure. In environments that mimic the world we actually live in.
Urban Defense was born out of urgency. Brandon knew that most civilians didn’t want to become tactical operators. They just wanted to know what to do if violence ever found them—or someone they loved. They wanted to stop bleeding. Get out of danger. Get their kids to safety. Defend their lives if they had to. That’s it. And there was no place teaching those things the right way. So he created one!

Urban Defense is designed to close the survival gap between professionals and civilians—without requiring years of training or thousands of dollars. It blends scenario-based force-on-force instruction, neuroscience-informed decision training, instinctive firearms handling, emergency medical response, and behavioral pattern recognition—all delivered through accelerated programs that meet people where they are. The mission isn’t to train warriors. The mission is to build survivors. Whether you’re a parent, a college student, a retiree, or a small business owner, you don’t need to live in fear. You just need a place to train smarter, faster, and more realistically. That’s why Urban Defense was born. When the light fades, readiness lights the way.

How Urban Defense Helps – Training, Tools, and Technology for Real-World Survivability

At Urban Defense, fear meets its match in preparation. Every class, every tool, and every technique offered at Urban Defense is designed with one goal in mind: to make civilians more capable of surviving the worst day of their lives. Whether it’s a carjacking, an active shooter, a violent assault, or a natural disaster, Urban Defense gives people the training and tools they need to move, think, and respond under pressure. This isn’t theory. It’s experience translated into action.

Brandon and his team offer hyper-accelerated, scenario-based training in:

  • Firearms use (including instinctive close-quarters shooting)

  • Open-hand defense and combatives

  • Emergency medical response, including tourniquet use and trauma protocols

  • Decision-making under stress, using proven neuroscience and behavioral techniques

  • Situational awareness and pattern recognition, inspired by military and counterintelligence tradecraft

  • The Active Shooter & Medical Response System (a wall-mounted emergency kit with GPS and 911 alert capabilities)
  • Smart holsters and digital magazines for law enforcement
  • The Urban Radar software suite—AI-powered mobile apps for civilian safety, school surveillance, and police intelligence

You don’t need a military background to train here. You just need the desire to protect what matters.

This is more than training. It’s a mindset shift—from panic to purpose, from fear to confidence. Because Urban Defense doesn’t just change how you react in crisis—it changes how you move through the world every day.

A Call to the Community – This Is About More Than Training. It’s About Taking Back Control.

You don’t have to live in fear. You don’t have to wait for tragedy to strike before deciding to act. Urban Defense was built for you—for the mom who doesn’t feel safe dropping her kids off at school, for the business owner who’s tired of seeing chaos on the evening news, for the young woman walking to her car at night, for the retiree who wants peace of mind when answering the door. This isn’t paranoia. It’s preparation. And preparation is empowering. Our mission is to make Brevard County the most prepared, confident, and resilient community in Florida. But it starts with you. One visit. One class. One conversation could be the turning point. Because confidence is contagious—and when you’re trained, you pass that calm on to everyone around you. At Urban Defense, we don’t sell fear. We teach people how to walk through it—decisively, skillfully, and with purpose. You don’t have to wait for help.

You are the help! And You Are always the First on Scene!
